Our trip to Sonoma kicked off yesterday in LA ( had to drop the puppy off with Grandma ). . .
Here we go!!
Last night we had the chance to dine at one of my favorite restaurants in the world - One Pico at the Shutters hotel in Santa Monica. I had an amazing pecorino flan to start, followed by braised beed ravioli in a demiglace reduction. Mike's Ahi was spectacular and cooked perfectly, and Dad enjoyed his first experience with beef short ribs based on our emphatic recommendation. The boys enjoyed a lively Argentinian Malbec which was a perfect pairing for all 3 dishes believe it or not. What a way to start this trip - which lets face it - has become all about the food for me.
It was pretty hard to say goodbye to the pupster this morning, but she is in good hands and hopefully having a ball without us.
