With bathroom breaks, gas stop & lunch - our trip from SLO to San Francisco took about 6 hours. This part of the coastline which includes Big Sur and Monterrey Penninsula is just as breathtaking as I remembered. Mike did all of the driving which I was grateful for to really take in all of the surroundings.
Our lunch stop at the Whale Watchers Cafe in Gorda Springs was certainly picturesque but otherwise nondescript with the exception of the ridiculous prices ( $18 sandwiches, anyone?).
My Trusty Map.
Arriving at our destination in San Francisco was a breeze thanks to the GPS. We even found street parking right outside our friend's house!! We'd not been to Scott & Sarah's new place yet, it is right near USF and the Golden Gate Bridge. We had a ball - Sarah is due in like two days and she was gracious enough to make dinner! Mike and I were afraid she was going to go into labor while we were there - luckily that did NOT happen=)
Scott made a "Guacamole" that was dubbed "Atomic Guacamole" b/c he put 3 serranos in, including seeds. I actually really liked it although I had some heartburn this morning!
