What an incredibly long week it has been! I am truly enjoying a well deserved and much needed couple of days off. I can't wait to go into LA today - which always means a chance to go to some great restaurants!
On a side note, I finally caught the episode of No Reservations that was filmed here in Indio at the Date Gardens, it was pretty priceless. I'm still not exactly sure why he decided to visit the Salton Sea - it has absolutely zero culinary significance. As a matter of fact when Mike and I took a day trip there recently we literally could not find any place to eat and had to drive right back to town. Bizarre.
We had a lovely dinner at a friends house last night, including a delicious watermelon salad with alfalfa sprouts that was a perfect summertime treat. I ate three pieces of La brea bakery olive bread - oh my god, that stuff is ridiculously good. Mike also really enjoyed the 16% alcohol content California zin that was being poured - I think it sneaks up you a little bit. Katie says that even if it says 16% it could really be upwards of 18% - which is for all intents and purposes fortified liquor! Oh well - he was having a lot of fun=) By the way, the weather was glorious last night, wasn't it?
Will post pictures and updates from LA. Have an amazing Sunday . . .
