Well , keeping true to my last few LA trips I have done nothing but eat since arriving. I am very, very full right now and finally finsihed for the day. Also got to use eating as an excuse to catch up with some of my bestest girl friends. They think we are having a reunion but really I am just looking for an excuse to stuff my face again=)
Last night I ate here - very trendy Southbay nouveau , pretty good food and service, although our table was so uncomfortable poor Mike was wedged into the corner between his brother and I like a corkscrew. I had a Kobe burger with Humboldt Fog cheese on Kings Hawaiian bread. I liked it but LOVED the pommes frites even more. I am a certified french - fry - aholic these days.
Today I ate here and here ( our local favorite ) and went with Mike to have a beer here. (The last spot is a gastropub - which is essentially an upscale beer joint with upscale food - very big in urban areas, haven't quite made it to our neck of the woods yet.) All very tasty, but ouch, LA prices are so outrageous. And also - I had forgotten how HAWT it gets here during the day and then SNAP it's freezing at night. Actually I am the only one who seems to be cold. I guess that Desert Dwelling has mucked up my internal thermometer.
