Last night Mike & I went to Piero's at the river to meet up with a great friend who is (sadly) moving away next week. I hadn't been there in a while - but when I worked at the river they practically had a bar stool with my name on it there. Anyway, their whole "all-day" happy hour is back and we took advantage of it. I had the Cobb salad - humongous and always tasty plus two glasses of wine and Mike got the Shrimp and Scallop skewers and two fat tires, with tip = $52. Not too shabby, a very good value actually. Their wine by the glass list is larger than most but kind of run of the mill. If you like mixed drinks they make a mean margarita and I use to be a big fan of their lemondrops - $4.95 during happy hour with top shelf vodka. I also ran into a few old friends, which was unexpected and nice. Isn't it funny though how far away the other side of the valley can seem when you live on one side or the other? We really had to psych ourselves up to drive all the way to Rancho Mirage=)
